The BrailleBox is an accessible and engaging way for students to acquire Braille literacy.

We at Long Term Impact are excited to announce our investment in Evision Academy. Evision is an education solutions company established in 2021 to empower students who are blind or visually impaired with critical life skills. Evision’s first product is the Braille Box, an innovative and engaging solution for teaching students how to read Braille.

Angela R. Hilson, M.Ed., the founder of Evision, is a 23-year education veteran and expert in teaching students who are blind or visually impaired. She knows first hand the challenges that teachers, families and districts face when it comes to supporting students with visual impairments.  Previously, Angela has received a grant from NewSchools Venture Fund to develop Evision.

Daniel Jhin Yoo, Justin Su, and I believe that all children should have access to a high quality education. Currently many teachers who are tasked with teaching students who are visually impaired or blind have access to little or no curriculum. Moreover, while learning to read Braille can be life changing for these students, the resources available are largely inaccessible to the students’ family or even other teachers who may not have received special training. Evision addresses this problem by providing an easy to use and accessible solution that can be used by multiple parties in a student's life to support them on their reading journey.

At Long Term Impact, we focus on supporting pre-seed founders who have built impactful products and are committed to building sustainable, high impact businesses that contribute to a more equitable public school system.  We believe strongly in the work that Angela is doing, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to support her on her journey.
